Tips for Visiting Las Vegas

Las Vegas can be an awesome destination for your next vacation, but you'll need to make sure that you follow a few rules in order to get the best experience!

Travel light and dress light

You will be walking a LOT or riding often in a vehicle that is closed off from the outside air conditioning system, so bring along some items to remove when you get inside your hotel room/activity place/whatever. If it's 110 degrees, drinking tons of water isn't going to help you much if you're dressed for winter weather with heavy sweaters, boots, and gloves, etc.

Wear Sunscreen

Be careful what you put onto your skin! If you suntan lotion with a high SPF factor, you will be very thankful when you come back from Las Vegas because you won't be sunburned. But make sure to put it on before you leave the hotel (they'll provide lotion if you don't bring any), and again after each time that you go out in the sun - since it's so hot outside, even though it seems like your body would compensate by sweating more, instead of not needing to use suntan lotion as much...it actually requires more lotion than usual!

Wear sunglasses when you're in the sun too. It's much easier to rub lotion on your face than to put eye drops in every hour or so, and it'll stop you from having sore eyes after your trip.

Watch Out For Cars!

The city has an immense amount of traffic all over the place at any given time, even in places where it shouldn't be, so don't get distracted trying to get that perfect pose for that photo that you want to take! Take care crossing streets - not just because there are lots of cars driving around but also because there are also motorcyclists who might not stop for people crossing the street since they're driving through busy intersections without stopping at green lights sometimes.

Don't Get Lost In The Gambling!

Sure it can be exciting playing poker at the casino, but make sure that you don't get carried away! There are great shows and events all over Las Vegas depending on what time of year it is, so remember to take some time for yourself and learn a little history by visiting one of the many museums they have there.

Take Care Of Your Belongings

Las Vegas attracts thieves, especially those who prey on distracted people who've been gambling/drinking for too long. If you're planning to go out to a casino or bar, leave your expensive items back in the hotel room! The people who steal stuff like that are generally pros who know how to get around security systems.

Don't Get Too Drunk (Or Else)

You probably won't get thrown out of the casino because you're drunk...unless you do something REALLY silly like fight with security guards, but if you start staggering into other people while walking through the casino, they might complain to security and YOU could be asked to leave even if it was just an accident. If you want shots at the bar because it's fun, make sure that you pace yourself - don't drink too much in one hour, or else you'll end up spending more than you wanted or being too drunk to enjoy the night!
