A ropes course like ours can be intimidating though, so we thought that we would share some ropes course tips for climbers of all ages and experience levels!
Don't Take the Ropes Course Too Seriously...
One of the things that make ropes courses like ours so intimidating is the fact that 4 out of 5 people have some fear of heights. A fear of heights can get you to a place where you’re overthinking every single step that you take on a ropes course and it is flat out terrifying. The trick to mastering a ropes course is to not take any of it too seriously. A ropes course is an exciting attraction that is designed to be safe, challenging, and most importantly is it designed to be FUN. Visiting an indoor ropes course should be all about enjoying yourself while taking on challenging tasks head on!
...But Mentally Prepare Yourself
All of that being said, you will still need to mentally prepare yourself for taking on the tallest indoor ropes course in Las Vegas! Part of the fun and enjoyment comes from challenging yourself to take on each of the 17 different ropes course elements as you ascend 3 different levels! Some of the common fears that people have when they approach a ropes course are a fear of heights and a fear of falling. Focusing on these fears can cause your legs to shake and your balance to be off which will only make completing the course that much more difficult. One way that you can prepare yourself mentally by testing out your harness before you go on the course. Once you are secured into the harness, let yourself hand for a moment so that you can see for yourself that you are secure if you were to fall off. This may give you the confidence and sense of security that you need.
Put Some Faith in the Harness
As we mentioned earlier in this post, you can gain some self confidence by testing out the harness to show yourself that you are secure while you are climbing. The harness is there to catch you in the event that you misstep or fall off the obstacle course. The harness catches you instantly so you never fall, in fact you kind of just hang there until you put your foot back on the course element.
Dress the Part
While we are located on the Las Vegas Strip, we don’t recommend ever doing any kind of athletic activity in “casino attire.” When you visit Climb Vegas, it’s best that you wear clothing that is comfortable to move around in. Closed-toed shoes are required!
